Financial Freedom Formula

Last weekend, I went for a seminar - "Millionaire Mind" by T. Harv Eker who wrote a book called "Secrets of the Millionaire Mind". The seminar was conducted in 3 days: 23rd & 24th - 9 a.m. ~ 11 p.m., and 25th - 9 a.m. ~ 8 p.m., and it had attracted about 4500 people who came from few countries - Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam and etc. to listen this seminar in Mines Conventional Hall.

In the seminar, he taught us how to change our Money Blueprint. In the changing process, we have learnt Financial Freedom Formula (FFF) - which dealing with money management and techniques to control your mind (from my oppinion the techniques that he proposed are related in NLP, attraction law and subconscious mind).

Financial freedom is defined as the ability to live the lifestyle we desire without having to work, or rely on anyone else for money. And it has formulated an equation as follows:

FFF = WI + Savings + Investments + PI + Simplify

WI = Working Income = permanent job's income
PI = Passive Income = income without work
Simplify = make life simple with only buy the necessities things

In this equation, the only thing that really make us truly financially free is only when our passive income greater than our expanses. To increase the passive income, we have to increase two primary sources of passive income:

(a) Investment income (money working for us)

(b)
Ongoing passive business income (business working for us)

The examples of passive business income are Franchiser, Network Marketing, Royalty, Internet Marketing, and etc.. Thus, the secret is to have multiple stream of passive income.

Apart from that, we also have to be good at managing our money. Eker said "Wealthy people are not any smarter, they just have better money management habits". I'm strongly agree with him that we have to train ourself have the habits to manage our money even we only have RM 100 to be managed. The simplist and easiest money management method is seperating our income into different accounts for specific purposes.

The income is divided into 6 accounts:
  1. 10% for Financial Freedom Account (FFA)
  2. 10% for Long Term Savings for Spending (LTSS) Account
  3. 10% for Education (EDUC) Account
  4. 55% for Necessities (NEC) Account
  5. 10% for Play Account
  6. 5% for Give Account
Of course, the distribution of percentage can be varied as we like.

FFA is used for investment and not spend for other purpose. The concept behind is to create a golden goose (savings) and make them produce golden eggs (passive income). Then, when we stop working, we get to spend the eggs and not the golden goose.

LTSS account is used for buying new car, house that we have to take longer time to save a big amount of money.

EDUC account is used for our own education and not for our children like now I'm paying RM240 for this seminar. hehehe... This is true, if we are not growing, we are dying.

NEC account is used for paying bills, house goods, all types of loans and etc.. If we can't live on 55%, then we have to simplify our life as stated in FFF. "Wealthy people think long term. Poor people think short term."

Life still need to go on, so, Play account is used for us to spend on the things that we desire to do. It is like once a month spend on good foods or spend on vocation after save for 3 to 4 months.

Give account is used for someone that needs people to help like donation as how chinese said "small money does not give out, big money would not come back". :)

I hope my short sharing (hehehe...i'm not sure is it short for you or not) will benefit you all to get financial freedom. Anyway, we have to remember

"Habit is more important than mouth" by T. H. Eker

thus, let starts take action now to have a habit to manage your money instead just talk, and hope we all truly get financial free and stay happily with our family.

A Big Step to Move to Our Dream

All the while, pursuing my doctorate level is my dream and now I have the chance to achieve it in KOREA in 7 years (2 years Master's Degree and 5 years Ph.D). That's long !!! I can tell you this is not that easy to make this kind of decision because of my commitments that I have now. Marriage, family, career and housing loan... Wow... Of course! I'm not regret and happy what i have now.

For the past 6 months, I have intensively discussed with my family and especially my wife, Shien. This is very difficult for her to make the decision. I know one side of her don't want to let me go but the other side she wants me to achieve my dream some more our wedding ceremony is closed to June (at Alor Star) and October (at KL). However, she still support me and wants me to go. I feel grateful to have her as my wife and life partner. I really appreciate what she has sacrificed for me.

I really appreciate my wife, her family and my family of their patience and consideration and make my wedding in different month June and October. In the beginning, we plan to have our wedding ceremony and dinner in KL on 18th October and the following week have wedding dinner in Alor Star. But, I can't get two weeks long holidays if I go to KOREA for my study in October. Thus, I have to change my wedding dinner's date for Alor Star to 7th June. I hope my explanation here is clear to my dear friends who are curious that I hold my wedding dinner on two different months.

Last week, I finally decided to tender my resignation and my last day is 8th July 2008 (which is 7 years service in KBU). In the same week, I also submitted my application to the University and now just wait for the reply. By hope, I can receive the confirmation from the University by this end of June. Worrying is there because I haven't get the confirmation from the University and then I tendered my resignation although the Professor confirmed to accept me under his supervision. So, pray for me :)

I think all of you will doubt what am I going to do if i don't accepted by the University. I tell ... I also don't know what to do and the only thing that I know is I'm JOBLESS!!! :)

I hope I successfully accepted by the University and continue pursuing my study and achieve my dream to get a better life for whoever that I love, especially my wife SHIEN.

Powerful Word "Believe"

I think you will wonder why I say this word so powerful. I'm not sure you have the impression that this word has been used not only in our normal conversation, but it has been used in religions, law of attraction, neural-linguistic programming (NLP), subconscious mind, other self-help books and etc.

In the religions, majority of prayers have the mindset that when they pray to god with sincere heart, and eventually, the god will answer them if they have doubts, questions and problems. Thus, I would like to put in such a way that mindset is actually our belief on the god who will answer us. I personally think that everyone did face a situation that the god really answers them as after they pray to the god and it also happened to me.

I have read few books like Introducing NLP by J. O'Connor & J. Seymour, The Secret by R. Byme, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by J. Murphy, and Create Your Own Future by Brian Tracy, and found out that all these books do use this powerful word "belief". I would like to share with you as how these books used it.

In Introducing NLP, they state beliefs influence human behavior or can be about what causes what (cause and effect). This is mean, when we do certain thing that matters to us with passion and eventually it will answer us on our belief. The book give us guideline to modeling our beliefs by asking ourself with good questions like:

  1. Why do you do what you do?
  2. What does that mean to you?
  3. What would happen if you didn't do that?
  4. What is that like? What do you compare it to?
  5. What is empowering to you about this?

The law of belief has been introduced by J. Murphy in The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. He said the law of life is belief and belief is a thought in your mind that causes the power of your subconscious to be distributed into all phases of your life according to your thinking habits. Or simply, the belief of your mind is simply the thought your mind.

Believe has been used in one of the step in Create Process in this book The Secret. It defines believing involves acting, speaking, and thinking as though you have already received what you've asked for.

Brian Tracy also introduces Law of Belief and states that whatever you believe with conviction becomes your reality. "If you absolutely believe that you are destined to be a great success in life, you will think and behave accordingly, and you will make it come true."

As you can see the words or phrases that i highlighted have the same common meaning from above examples. From all these, I would like to conclude that

"Dream will come true if we know what is the thing that matters to us and start to think, behave and act accordingly with passion and sincere heart to what you believe." by Andy Chong

How much you know about body wellness...

Last night, we went for the 2nd meeting at MPL building which is next to Weld Shopping center. In this meeting, we had to measure our weight by using costly weight that only can get in fitness equipments shop. You know what... my weight is 79.5 kg (am i look that heavy? heheheh....).

The costly weight is really not same as a cheap weight machine that we can get from any shopping center (so far what i seen). That weight provides us not only our weight information, but also provide information on body fat range, percentage body water range, muscle mass, physique ratings, basal metabolic rate (BMR), basal metabolic age, bone mass and visceral fat. All these have their own standard index and rating, and to have a wellness body then we must try to keep our body in certain values of the standard index and rating. So, I'm personally think this is the way how we manage our body weight - weight management.

Once our height and age was keying into the machine, all these parameters showed up and following is my rating:

  1. Weight: 79.5 kg
  2. Body Fat Range: 24.9
  3. Body Water Range: 55%
  4. Muscle Mass: 56.5
  5. Physique Ratings: 3
  6. BMR: 1692 cal.
  7. Basal Metabolic Age: 40
  8. Bone Mass: 3.1
  9. Visceral Fat: 12
As we know, excessive carbohydrate contains in our body will cause us to get fat easily and automatically our weight also increase. Thus, the way to reduce is either we control our food intake which low carbohydrate or burn the extra calories by doing exercise. For the effectiveness of reducing our body weight, we have to know these points 2 to 9 parameters as shown above, and manage them until theirs values in the range where the body is considered well.

In my case, I have to reduce the body fat range, visceral fat and increase my body water range. Besides that, the total food's calories that I can intake, have to reduce until below 1692 calories. I will discuss further on how can I reduce my total calories intake and also the meaning of these parameters in my next post.

Fat ... Fat...

Fat is not only obsessed by women but also men especially like me, Andy Chong :) This is not because i want to be more handsome but I want to look good and comfortable with the cloth that i wear on it. By the way, let you know I used to be have six packs but now sighs..... hehehehe

For the past two years, we obsessed about our body weight where keep increasing. My weight is about 80 kg and my wife is ... (secret) hahaha.... Thus, we decided to join Celebrity Fitness at One Utama Shopping Center to do some workout and registered on 15th April 2007. The first 6 months, we were quite "Semangat" and almost everyday went to do workout after worked. I think this is because we had planned next year to shoot wedding photos and get married by this year.

After the hard work for 6 months, we managed to reduced our weight around 3 to 5 kg. Due to the lacking of preservation and the work pressure, we were getting lazy and only went for workout once or twice a week. Eventually, we are totally stop going for gym and cause our body weight increase again.

Recently, we came across a program so called - weight management (Weight management is defined as maintaining body weight at a desirable level) and went for the short seminar to get more details. In this program, their concept of weight management is talking about how we can loss, gain, and maintain our body weight at a desirable level by intaking their formulate powder with high protein (especially from soy) and well balance nutrition.

We are quite tempted on this method and had joined this program last two days ago. I will post to my blog once I get to know more details and the results on this weight management program. Don't worry... The program is well known in 65 countries and a lots of testimonials have shown the results. So, I will keep you all update about his program and the results. Who knows, if really good, then you may think of trying this weight management.

How much the life means to you!!!

Have you ever think what is the meaning of Life? and what kind of Life do you want to be?

For him - William Shakespeare, he defines "Life is a stage and we are the actors, waiting for our entrances and exits." He possibly recognizes that Life is a story and we has to define our role as we act in the ongoing play. Thus, Our Life is Our Story that waiting to be written with words in series of chapters in a book. How interesting is the book then depends on us to define or create it.

Life is like riding on a roller coaster. Once a start button is pressed, then, it will not stop until it arrives at the end point. Same as us, once we born in this world, our life is not going to stop and there will be a lots of challenges waiting for us to face. Throughout the route, matters that we face may lead us into a situation that make our life at the peak, downhill, or slow progression. And, the most hardest thing is to make a decision; whereby the decision may change our life that totally different from the typical life. This is because we are too comfortable with present life and scared to face unexpected consequences that will cause the life more worst as compare to before. We are too reluctant to face culture shock.

There is nothing cannot be solved, just either you want it or not and also is a matter of time. We have to be more positive thinking as said by Zig Ziglar, "Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will." If we never try then we never know and "You will never achieve what you never begin" by Andre Gide. Thus, let start make up our mind and define the role that we want to play in our life. Remember

"You create your future life and not your future life create you"

Welcome

Welcome to my blog.

Recently, I just create a site for my wife, Shien and we named the website shienandy (pronounce it as "SHANDY" - Don't Worry Be Happy). The theme of this site is to share everything that related to us like at this moment we shared our registration ceremony and pre-wedding photos to our families members and friends. The shienandy website will progressively develop as our love are growing everyday toward each other.

I select today (1st May 2008) as my blog first post because I hope everyday is Labor's Day....:) Then, we can spend time with the person that we love. Oh ya... Today also is my father-in-law's birthday and we are going to have dinner at Hotel Crystal Crown in Klang. Yahoo!!!... Can eat nice food with nice wine.
